Ghumau Lumbini TikTok Challenge Award DistributionMonday, June 19th, 2023
The Ghumau Lumbini TikTok Challenge Award was handed over to the young Tiktok influencers and videographers amidst a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday.
Speaking at a function organized to distribute award to the winners, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati pointed out the importance of usage of social media for branding, rebranding and popularizing the tourism destinations of Nepal in the international front.
The economic status of a country plays a vital role in deepening of democracy and democratic norms and values, Minister Kirati further stated that the long standing dream of economic growth and prosperity can be achieved through the overall development of tourism sector in Nepal.
The Minister viewed that the tourism promotion and publicity activities should be targeted towards bringing Indian tourists bordering Nepal particularly from Uttar Pradesh(UP) and Bihar in the country.
Similarly, State Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sushila Sripali Thakuri viewed that the birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha holds strategic importance for positioning Nepal as a peace loving country in the international front. State Minister Thakuri further urged the tourism entrepreneurs, social media influencers and authorities concerned for putting their joint efforts in promoting and preserving the existing Buddhist Circuit, developing tourism infrastructures and continuing the identification of new tourism products simultaneously for the sustainability and overall development of tourism sector.
Chief Executive Officer at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Dr. Dhananjay Regmi laid emphasis on diversification of tourism activities, developing new and attractive tourism packages for the tourists who visit Lumbini and surrounding areas to keep them engaged during the time of their stay.
Minister Kirati handed over the award and letter of appreciation to the Young Tiktok influencers Sachin Lodh, Vishnu Pandey and Gokul Nakarmi who bagged the first, second and third positions consecutively them at the ceremony.
The ceremony was organized in joint collaboration of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Irutech, a private company.
