Tourism Networking Reception and B2B Exchange Programme in DhakaThursday, June 22nd, 2023

Nepal Tourism Board, Embassy of Nepal Bangladesh and Hotel Association Nepal jointly organized a ‘Tourism Networking Reception and B2B Exchange Programme’ in Dhaka this evening of June 21.

During the event, B2B and networking sessions among hotel, travel, and tour entrepreneurs from Nepal and Bangladesh were held to promote tourism exchanges between the two countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari highlighted the important role played by tourism and hospitality entrepreneurs in building stronger bonds between Nepal and Bangladesh. He also underscored the need for collaboration and partnership to promote tourism and consolidate connections between the peoples, cultures, and societies of the two countries. Mr. Manoj Kumar Roy, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh, emphasized the need of enhanced connectivity to harness the tourism potential and enrich people-to-people contacts.

Mr. Uday Bhattarai, Manager at Nepal Tourism Board, made a presentation highlighting Nepal’s touristic products and prominent things for Bangladesh visitors in Nepal. Mr. Binayak Shah, President of the Hotel Association Nepal, called for more frequent B2B engagements and exchanges to boost tourism between the two countries. Similarly, Ms. Rahnuma Salam Khan, Deputy Director of the Bangladesh Tourism Board, Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali, President of the Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), Mr. Shiblul Azam Koreshi, President of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (ToAB), and Mr. S.N. Manzur Murshed (Mahbub), President of the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) also spoke during the event.
An MoU between Hotel Association Nepal and Bangladesh International Hotel Association was signed for collaboration in the hospitality sector. The visiting delegation from Nepal comprised 30 members including officials from Nepal Tourism Board, Hotel Association Nepal, and representatives of 16 different hotels. The Programme was attended by over 140 participants, including officials from Government of Bangladesh, representatives of travel agencies, tour operators, hotels and airlines, and other hospitality, travel and tourism-related organizations of Bangladesh.
