Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal promoted in Dehradun, IndiaSunday, June 23rd, 2024
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in partnership with Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Sudurpaschim Province organized a Joint Tourism Promotion Program in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India on 22 June 2024. Eight travel trade companies from Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal participated in the B2B Sales Mission. The program was aimed at promoting tourism of Sudurpaschim Nepal through networking among tourism business operators from Nepal and buyers in Dehradun. Mr. Khadga Bikram Shah, Senior Manager of NTB had an insightful presentation on Nepal’s tourism attractions and activities with updates of tourism sector in Nepal. Mr. Padam Bikram Singh, Chairperson of NATTA Sudurpaschim Province welcomed the tour operators and media people present in the program and appealed the local operators to include tour packages of Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal in their sale list. Addressing the program, President of Doon Travel Owners’ Association (DTOA) Mr. Yogesh Agrawal uttered that operators based in Dehradun will include tour packages of Nepal especially Sudurpaschim Province in their itineraries targeting the potential customers. Tourism promotional videos of Nepal were also screened in the program. Participating travel trade companies from Nepal had business to business (B2B) interactions with around 40 operators (buyers) from Dehradun. The local buyers were provided with complete information on accommodation, tour, services, and other tourism activities in Nepal.
During the program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between NATTA Sudurpaschim Province and Doon Travel Owners’ Association with the purpose of promoting cross border tourism. Before the evening program, the delegates from Nepal had a courtesy meeting with Honorable Chief Minister of Utttarakhand Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami in his office. Progress in operation of flights between Dehradun and Nepal was discussed during the meeting.
The tourism promotional event in Dehradun has helped to create a business opportunity that will boost more visitations from Uttarakhand of India to Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal. Mr. Shah was accompanied by Mr. Yub Raj Gurung, Officer of NTB.
