NTB Joins Hands With Rakuten Viber for Tourism Promotion of NepalSunday, October 27th, 2024

Nepal Tourism Board has signed an agreement with a popular free calling and messaging app Rakuten Viber for tourism promotion of Nepal. NTB CEO Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi and Business Development Manager and Country Representative of Nepal for Rakuten Viber Ms. Kshitu Risal met and announced the collaboration on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024.

The official NTB Viber platform named: NepalNow by NTB, will be ideal for dissemination of tourism information including daily communication and tourism updates among the tourism industry, tourists and general public in the country and Nepali diaspora all over the world. The channel will also be used for sharing latest stories and updates about tourism destinations, new products, packages, activities and experiences in different parts of Nepal. Promotional campaigns and sticker packs will also be launched during the course of the partnership.

Rakuten Viber being one of the most preferred communication application amongst Nepali consumers, and has recently in past six months partnered with six different government bodies of Nepal. 

NTB CEO Mr. Joshi was optimistic about the association with Viber. “Viber is very popular platform. We are positive that this will create greater brand visibility of Nepal as a destination, and will also help in diversifying our products and experiences. We plan to create a dynamic group with travel bloggers, content creators, tour operators and travelers, for complementary and cross cutting communication. In this age of digital exchanges and AI, it is crucial that we make use of such popular channels to reach out to our audience in a more engaging and personalized way.”
