NTB Showcases Nepal’s Tourism Diversity at Nepal Festival Delhi 2025Tuesday, April 15th, 2025
The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) successfully participated in the Nepal Festival Delhi 2025, held from 11 to 13 April 2025 at the Embassy of Nepal Grounds, New Delhi, India. The festival was organized by the Everest Chamber of Commerce & Industries in partnership with the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi to foster deeper cultural and economic ties between Nepal and India.
The event was inaugurated by Honorable Union Minister of Culture of India, Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, along with Honorable Minister for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs of Nepal, Mr. Ajay Chaurasiya, and His Excellency, Ambassador of Nepal to India, Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma. Their presence emphasized the importance of Nepal-India relations and the shared commitment to promoting regional trade, tourism and people-to-people relations.
Throughout the three days, various plenary sessions were conducted, bringing together renowned intellectuals, policymakers, and experts from both nations to discuss critical themes surrounding Nepal-India relations, trade cooperation, and the future of tourism.
During a key session titled “Strengthening Sustainable Tourism: Promoting Religious, Heritage & Adventure Tourism,” Senior Director from NTB, Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer, highlighted initiatives to streamline cross-border travel for Indian tourists and discussed the country’s integrated vision of promoting both spiritual and adventure tourism for long-term growth. This session featured prominent speakers including Mr. Leelamani Paudyal (former Chief Secretary, Government of Nepal), Dr. R.K. Suman (Deputy Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), Mr. Neeraj Sahdev (President, Golden App), Mr. Yubraj Baral (President, Everest Chamber of Commerce & Industries), and Ms. Leena Khadka Shrestha (CEO, Dhulikhel Mountain Resort). The discussion was expertly moderated by Dr. Subhash Goyal, a renowned Indian expert in aviation and tourism.
Nepal Tourism Board’s pavilion served as a key attraction, showcasing Nepal’s diverse offerings under the themes of culture, nature, adventure, along with spiritual and wellness tourism. Various promotional materials, souvenirs & information were shared among Nepal Stall visitors
Adding to the festival’s charm was the showcase of authentic Nepali cuisine, allowing visitors to savor the rich and diverse flavors of Nepal. A wide range of local products and handicrafts were also on display, promoting Nepal’s vibrant artisanal heritage. Moreover, several stalls from the Indian side also participated, contributing to a cross-cultural celebration that reinforced bilateral friendship and exchange.
With India continuing to be Nepal’s largest tourism source market, NTB remains focused on expanding outreach and collaboration to tap into growing interest in cross-border travel and exploration. Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer, Sr. Director, and Mr. Sagar Upadhyaya, Sr. Officer, represented NTB at the event.
