Nepal and Italy Meet at #photoNepalTuesday, November 4th, 2025

Under its regular visual dialogue campaign #photoNepal, the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is organizing a special photo exhibition titled “A Tale of Two Lands: Nepal meets Sicily” from November 3 to 5, 2025 (Kartik 17–19, 2082) at the NTB Courtyard, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

The exhibition, featuring 25 captivating photographs by Italian photographer Valentina Brancaforte, showcases the rich diversity and shared emotions between Nepal and Italy. The exhibition will remain open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and visitors can enjoy it free of charge at the NTB courtyard.

The #photoNepal campaign began in February 2016 with a photo exhibition of the renowned Swiss geologist Dr. Toni Hagen. Initiated with the goal of showcasing Nepal’s natural, cultural, and human dimensions to the world, the campaign has since continued to organize regular #photoNepal exhibitions, highlighting Nepal’s beauty and creativity through the lens of photography.

As part of this initiative, NTB operates a digital photo portal www.photo.ntb.gov.np where photographers and enthusiasts can upload and explore images of Nepal. The platform, now also accessible through photoNepal.travel, currently hosts over 25,000 photographs contributed by more than 11,000 members, collectively portraying Nepal’s diverse landscapes, heritage, and emotions.

The “A Tale of Two Lands” exhibition seeks to connect the religious and cultural festivals of Nepal and Sicily through the universal language of photography. By capturing the power of faith, cultural vibrancy, and the beauty of communal celebrations, the exhibition highlights the shared human values and connections that transcend geographical boundaries.

Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, stated: “Nepal’s festivals and cultures have the power to form emotional connections with societies across the world. ‘A Tale of Two Lands’ delivers that message — the unity within diversity. Through the #photoNepal campaign, we continue to present Nepal as a country to be felt and experienced — a source of inspiration through visual expression.”

The Nepal Tourism Board warmly invites all art enthusiasts, photographers, media representatives, and the general public to visit the exhibition and experience Nepal through the perspectives of beauty, emotion, and creativity.
