Nepal Show a Grand Success at CITM 2025, Haikou Wins “Best Booth Award”Sunday, December 21st, 2025

Nepal Wins CITM 2025 “Best Booth Award“, Puts up Cultural Performance, Makes Destination Presentation for Local Promotion. Nepal successfully participated making a highly positive impact at the China International Travel Market (CITM 2025) from Dec. 19-21, 2025, held in Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, Haikou.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) led Nepal’s show with Nepal Airlines and seven Nepali companies from the travel trade sector. The participation increased visibility of Nepal as a premier neighboring holiday destination offering “once-in-a-lifetime experiences” among China travel trade and consumers, and on the global front.

The 3-day fair had provided an ideal platform for promotion, marketing and networking bringing together destination marketing organizations, destination marketing companies, travel trade, airlines, hotels and travel businesses from different parts of the world and from China, for a grand show.
With bright look and lively participants, Nepal Pavilion received the “Best Booth Award” from the organizers of CITM 2025. Highlighting the “Nepal – Lifetime Experiences” brand with images of mountains, façade of Buddhist stupa on two sides, Living Goddess Kumari, different tourist activities and scenic highlights, the Nepal Pavilion also put up cultural performance which was highly appreciated by visitors and participants alike.

Visitors inquired about the different activities, access and entry regulations, and many expressed curiosity about destination. Members of the Nepali travel trade also attended the B2B sessions at the fair to meet buyers invited by the organizers.
A special “Explore Nepal” evening was organized near the venue on Dec. 19 by the Office of the Consulate General of Nepal in Guangzhou. The program was attended by Government officials and members of travel trade from Hainan. Members of the fair delegates from NTB and trade from Nepal also participated at the event. Ms. Lin Qian, Director General of the Haikou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, was Chief Guest at the program.

Consulate General of Nepal to Guangzhou Mr. Bharat Khanal welcomed the guests and spoke about the strengths of Nepal as a tourism destination highlighting the age-old relations between the two countries. Similarly, Senior Manager of NTB Ms. Archana KC Rana made a destination presentation with focus on the cultural, natural, adventurous and wellness experiences offered by Nepal emphasizing that China is a highly important value market for Nepal. The formal program was followed by B to B and networking session among the Chinese and Nepali participants fostering new collaborations and partnerships.
Participating members of Nepal’s private sector expressed optimism and satisfaction about the meetings and potential outcome of the fair. CITM is one of the biggest travel shows of China and has been on since 2004. This was the first time the fair was organized in the scenic coastal city of Haikou in the southern province of Hainan.
