Harmony of Drums Showcases Cultural Synergy Between Nepal and JapanFriday, March 20th, 2026

The Nepal Tourism Board successfully hosted Harmony of Drums: A Japanese–Newari Cultural Music Fusion 2026 at its Auditorium Hall in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, commemorating the 70 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan. The event served as a vibrant platform to celebrate the enduring friendship, cultural exchange and mutual respect shared between the two nations.
Jointly organized by the Nepal Tourism Board and World U Academy (Hero’s Club) from Japan, the program highlighted the power of cultural diplomacy through music and performance. It brought together artists and cultural ambassadors from both countries, creating a meaningful fusion of traditional rhythms and artistic expressions.

The highlight of the event was an enthralling drum performance by members of Hero’s Club under World U Academy, who traveled from Japan to participate in this special celebration. Their dynamic and synchronized presentation captivated the audience, reflecting the richness of Japanese cultural heritage.


Complementing this, performers from Nepal Cultural Corporation showcased traditional Dhime Baja and Newari cultural performances, representing the deep-rooted traditions and artistic excellence of Nepal. The fusion of Japanese drumming and Newari musical heritage created a unique cultural dialogue, symbolizing harmony, unity, and shared values.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sunil Sharma, Officiating Director from the Nepal Tourism Board emphasized the importance of such cultural initiatives in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting Nepal as a culturally rich and diverse destination in the Japanese market. The event also reinforced Nepal’s commitment to fostering international partnerships through tourism and cultural exchange.

As Nepal and Japan mark 70 years of diplomatic friendship, programs like Harmony of Drums play a crucial role in enhancing people-to-people connections and deepening cultural understanding. Nepal Tourism Board remains dedicated to promoting Nepal’s heritage globally while building meaningful collaborations with international partners.
