Nepal Promoted in Adventure Travel Show 2017, LondonWednesday, February 15th, 2017
LONDON, United Kingdom, Jan. 24, 2017 – Nepal Tourism Board participated and promoted Nepal in a two-day travel event Adventure Travel Show 2017, UK’s only travel event dedicated to “discovering the world off the beaten track”. The show was organized from Jan. 21-22, 2017, in Olympia, London, where more than 110 exhibitors participated and promoted their business and services to the prospective buyers. As its name suggests, the show was particularly dedicated to adventure tourism.
Before the show, a two day seminar cum business networking was also organized in the program venue on Jan. 18-19, 2017, the participants of which were the representatives of National Tourism Organizations, renowned tour operators, travels agents, media, and other agencies from tourism fraternity from different countries and destinations. The seminar also proved to be a very potential platform for the buyers and sellers to develop their networks and business relations and exchange their ideas. NTB officials also actively participated in the seminar both the days.
Nepal Stall was flocked with lots of inquisitive visitors with different queries about Nepal. NTB officials and the participating companies’ representatives tried their level best to satisfy the queries of the visitors. In the show, Nepal mainly highlighted the major adventure attractions such as: trekking, rafting, expedition, sky diving, mountain biking, bungee jump, paragliding, ultra light, and similar other adventure activities. The participating companies from Nepal also offered their best packages to the prospective buyers. They are quite satisfied with the response received and also showed their keen interest to participate in the next year’s show under NTB’s banner. Besides the show, different sideline events were also organized in fair days.
Three companies: Breakfree Adventures, Buna Treks & Expedition, and Himalayan Range Trekking & Expedition, also participated along with Nepal Tourism Board. Nepal delegation was headed by the Chairman of NTB and Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Shankar Prasad Adhikari. NTB Executive Committee Member and Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Mr. Sanjiv Gautam and the Member of Executive Committee Mr. Purna Bahadur Kunwar also observed NTB’s participation in the show.
His Excellency the Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom, Dr. Durga Bahadur Chhetri along with Nepal Embassy officials also graced his presence whereas Hon’ble Minister for Education, Government of Nepal Mr. Dhani Ram Poudel, who is also in the UK observed the show and encouraged to promote Nepal in similar ways in other tourist generating markets. Mr. Mani Raj Lamichhane, Officiating Director, and Mr. Khem Raj Timalsena, Sr. Officer, represented NTB in the fair.
