KATHMANDU, Nepal, September 18, 2017 – Nepal Tourism Board, the National Tourism Organization of Nepal, has noted the recent news online regarding the alleged misbehavior to a British woman and her son by a Nepali woman on a trekking route in Nepal.
On behalf of Nepal’s tourism industry, we express deep regret and apologize for the inconvenience caused to our valued guests because of the incident. In Nepali culture “Guests are Gods”. Therefore, this humiliation of our guests is our humiliation too, and we will make all possible efforts to make sure such incidents are avoided in future to ensure the safety and well being of our tourists as top priority.
NTB has reported the incident to concerned authorities and an investigation team has already been dispatched for authentic inquiry into the matter. Meanwhile, we are also in communication with the concerned woman to try to understand her side of story. The facts will be released as soon as we get the full report from the authorities.
