NTB Launches 8th Chinese Language Training to Enhance Tourism HospitalityFriday, May 8th, 2026

KATHMANDU – The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, has officially inaugurated the 8th batch of its Chinese Language Training program. This initiative delivers on the bilateral agreement established between H.E. President Xi Jinping and former PM Rt. Hon. Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to strengthen cultural and human resource ties.During the ceremony, MoCTCA Secretary Mukunda Niroula and H.E. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming highlighted the program’s success in producing skilled professionals who provide high-quality service in the Chinese language. With over 80 tourism professionals enrolled in this session, the course continues to bridge the communication gap and elevate Nepal’s hospitality standards for international travelers.In a sideline meeting with the H.E. Ambassador, held in the presence of the Director General of the Department of Tourism, Senior Officer Robin Regmi discussed various cooperation and collaboration efforts between the Nepal Tourism Board and the Embassy of China in Kathmandu. He requested the revival of older joint initiatives to support the Nepalese tourism sector and sought assistance in promoting Nepal’s tourism legacy of Lord Buddha and Buddhist heritage in the Chinese cities of Chengdu and Leshan.This landmark program remains a vital component of the government’s strategy to attract more Chinese visitors and foster deeper economic cooperation between the two nations.
