The First Secretary (Charge the Affairs) of Malaysia to Nepal Mohd Fazel Abu Hassan met with NTB CEO Dr. Dhananjay Regmi and senior team of NTB at the Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu Valley on Friday, Aug. 29. Mutual cooperation between Nepal and Malaysia to promote tourism was discussed at the meeting.

Prioritizing tourist safety by strict adherence of health protocol was seen as crucial for the promotion of tourism activities between Nepal and Malaysia. Similarly, online B2B model was seen as the ideal tool for promotion. There was also mutual consent regarding continuing of goodwill visit of diplomats, celebrities and media persons of both the countries to keep the tourism relation momentum on.

Malaysia is an important market for Nepal tourism and NTB has been participating in various travel marts organized in Malaysia since its very early days. NTB has been holding regular meetings and discussions with diplomatic missions in Kathmandu and Nepal Embassies abroad for keeping the communication on and market update even in the midst of Covid. NTB had earlier met and discussed with the Ambassadors of Qatar, Thailand and Sri Lanka.
