Senior Indian Pilgrims Visit Pashupatinath Temple Through Indian Govt Hosted ProgramWednesday, March 29th, 2023
Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has been running Social Welfare Scheme in which the government of India organizes a fully hosted Pilgrim visit to its Senior Citizens to various pilgrimage destinations. The Government of Rajasthan included Nepal for the first time in the scheme. Through the scheme, IRCTC and State Government of Rajastha are organizing the fully sponsored trip of approximately 2000 Pilgrims from the state to Nepal.
On the first day of the visit, 200 pilgrims from Rajasthan visited Pashupati Nath temple on March 28, 2023. Nepal Tourism Board and Pashupati Area Development Trust welcomed the pilgrims in the premises of the temple. NTB, PADT along with Tourist Police welcomed the pilgrims with Rudrakshya and PADT briefed the visitors about the Pashupati Nath temple. The scheme which is first of its kind has opened doors for the Government of Nepal and policy makers to explore new areas of partnership for tourism promotion in India which is the largest market for Nepal.
