The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries, NTB Executive Committee members, leaders of tourism associations, media representatives, and other distinguished guests.
Hon’ble Minister Badri Prasad Pandey emphasized the pivotal role of Nepal’s rich cultural diversity and linguistic heritage in boosting the country’s tourism sector. Speaking at the event, he remarked, “Nepal is endowed with a variety of languages and cultures, and promoting these will provide a unique experience for foreign travellers.” He further noted that leveraging these cultural assets could attract a greater number of tourists, thereby strengthening Nepal’s position as a global tourism destination.
Hon’ble State Minister Arun Kumar Chaudhary highlighted Nepal’s immense potential in tourism and called for collective effort among stakeholders. He urged all stakeholders to work diligently in their respective areas to drive positive changes in the sector. Addressing concerns about regulatory challenges, he encouraged authorities to bring issues to the ministry’s attention for resolution, emphasizing the importance of proactive engagement rather than inaction.
NTB Chairman and Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey, stated that the board should emphasize infrastructure development, extensive use of technology, and the development of human resources required for tourism. NTB Member Rishi Bhandari added that the tourism board, which holds the main responsibility of tourism promotion, should be made dynamic by engaging all stakeholders collaboratively.

He expressed optimism about the future of tourism in Nepal, noting that Nepal’s tourist arrivals are gradually returning to normal. He shared that 97 percent recovery has been observed in the global tourism environment post-COVID, with Nepal experiencing a 96 percent recovery, marked by 1.15 million tourist arrivals in the first 11 months of 2024. He expressed hope for a golden era in Nepalese tourism in the coming days.
Nepal Tourism Employee Organization (NTBEO) President, Mr. Kundan Sharma Mishra, urged the organization to initiate necessary policy reforms for its internal strengthening. He emphasized that such reforms would play a crucial role in enabling NTB to achieve its strategic goals.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, NTB unveiled its annual publication, ‘In Focus 2024,’ showcasing the board’s initiatives and achievements over the past year.
