New Delhi, India – Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), held a productive meeting with His Excellency Dr. Shankar Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal to India, and embassy officials to discuss the upcoming tourism promotion program in India.
During the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Sharma provided valuable insights on enhancing customs facilities, prioritizing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism with a special focus on Destination Weddings, and promoting cross-border tourism between Nepal and India.
Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi stated that strengthening Nepal-India tourism ties is a priority, and with collaborative efforts, Nepal can be positioned as a preferred destination for Indian travelers. He emphasized that the Indian market holds great potential, and NTB is committed to developing targeted strategies to attract more visitors from India.
His Excellency Dr. Sharma highlighted that India remains one of Nepal’s key tourism markets. He stressed that enhancing accessibility and promoting niche tourism segments like MICE and destination weddings will significantly boost arrivals and economic growth for both nations.
As part of its tourism promotion efforts, the NTB delegation is actively participating in SATTE 2025, India’s largest travel and tourism fair. SATTE 2025 is expected to welcome over 35,000 visitors and 1,400 exhibitors, providing an excellent platform for Nepal to showcase its diverse tourism offerings to key stakeholders in the Indian travel market.
NTB looks forward to working closely with the Embassy of Nepal in India to elevate Nepal’s presence in the Indian tourism market and create new opportunities for sustainable tourism development.
