Mountain Tourism Key to Economic Growth, Highlights NTB CEO at RSS ExhibitionThursday, June 12th, 2025
Kathmandu: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board, Deepak Raj Joshi, has stated that the photo exhibition organized by the National News Agency (RSS) serves as an important medium for the development of Nepal’s mountain tourism.

Speaking after observing the exhibition titled “Mountain Tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity”, organised to mark the 18th Republic Day, CEO Joshi noted that the display of curated photographs offers both aesthetic appeal and valuable information about Nepal’s unique landscapes.
“The photo exhibition is highly informative, engaging, and visually captivating,” said Joshi. “It offers a glimpse into the beauty of the country and motivates people to travel. There is a need to bring this exhibition to a wider audience, and the Nepal Tourism Board is ready to collaborate in that effort.”
He further stated that tourism has the potential to contribute significantly to Nepal’s economy by showcasing the country’s unparalleled natural beauty. “There are numerous elements we can present to the world through tourism,” Joshi said. “These photographs not only highlight our rich culture and civilisation but also inspire the youth to explore opportunities within the country. This kind of initiative can unlock economic opportunities and raise global awareness of Nepal’s unique offerings.”

CEO Joshi also suggested that publishing the exhibited photographs in book form and presenting them at national and international forums could play a vital role in promoting Nepal as a tourism destination.
RSS Executive Chairperson Dharmendra Jha, who briefed visitors at the exhibition, expressed confidence that the initiative would help amplify the importance and allure of Nepal’s Himalayan regions.
The exhibition, which opened on May 24, features 96 photographs depicting the diverse Himalayan ranges stretching from east to west Nepal, the lifestyle of mountain communities, and major tourist destinations. It aims to celebrate the beauty of Nepal’s mountainous terrain while underscoring its cultural and touristic significance.
